STEM Careers Talk

Year 5 had an inspiring and engaging talk about STEM careers from a retired Rolls Royce engineer. They learnt about ways into STEM career and what an engineering job might involve. Children asked interesting questions and enjoyed learning all about engines and planes! They even saw some live demonstrations!

STEM Workshop – Bridge Building!

Year 5 had an inspiring and engaging workshop about building strong bridges delivered by Soar Valley College science teachers. Children learnt about the different people involved in such a big scale project, including material scientist, engineers, and mathematicians.

Children completed a challenge of building a strong bridge that could withstand increasing weight using given materials with a strict time limit. The strongest bridges held 700g and they won sweet prizes! J

Children worked very hard and really enjoyed this session. Well done everyone!
