National Tutoring Programme

The government has announced a £350 million National Tutoring Programme to provide additional, targeted support for those children and young people who need the most help. This was divided into different methods of delivery: Tuition partners, Academic mentors and School-led tutoring. At CJS, we have made full use of two of the methods of delivery:

School Led Tutoring to provide small group tuition to children using Teachers and TAs (who received the mandatory NTP training). In addition to our own staff, a teacher from outside the school was employed on a casual basis to provide tutoring.

Academic Mentor: An academic mentor was recruited directly by the school, approved by the NTP, completed the NTP training programme and started working with children on 24 January 2022.
