Aims of the School
At Catherine Junior School, we encourage children to:
- achieve high standards of learning and presentation
- be independent learners
- be confident, both socially and personally
- express themselves clearly and imaginatively in a variety of ways
- to explore and experiment, applying knowledge gained
- find pleasure and satisfaction in their school life
- recognise and value their own achievements and those of others
- celebrate life and show awareness and respect for their own and other cultures/religions
The Catherine Code
We recognise the importance of personal development to both children's academic success and wellbeing. The Catherine Code supports pupils with developing key values that aid their learning and help to create a happy and positive school environment. The children have opportunities to reflect on and deepen their understanding of these values through weekly assemblies and as part of our curriculum.
We expect all children to represent the Catherine Code to the best of their ability and they are rewarded when they do so.
